Rich Scott Selected as Head Coach for FM's New Golf Program

FM Athletics would like to announce the hiring of Rich Scott as the new men's and women's head Golf Coach.  FM has added golf to its list of sports and competition will begin in 2016 season.

Rich Scott is the PGA Head Golf Professional at Fox Run Golf Club in Johnstown, NY.  He has been in the golf industry for over 15 years, with 10 of them spent at Fox Run. An active member in the PGA, Rich has served on several committees as well as currently serving as the Committee Chairperson for the Junior  Committee.  A 2015 Recipient of the NENY PGA Junior Player Development award, Rich has built a name for himself in the ranks of developing junior players.  Prior to obtaining PGA Class A status, Rich attended Herkimer County Community College as well as Simmons Institute of Funeral Service.

"I am extremely excited to be a part of the inaugural season of the FMCC Raiders golf program," said Scott.  "I have high expectation right off the first tee.  Currently, we are recruiting players for the Fall of 2016.  I am looking for players that share the same passion for the game that I do as a PGA Professional. Our students will focus on the balance of everyday college life as well as properly preparing for golf matches. I would expect that players that attend FMCC are looking for a high quality education, with a desire to play college athletics as well as a work ethic that will propel them to the next level.  We will prepare in the off season both physically and mentally as well as working together as a team to achieve both academic success as well as doing what it takes to compete for a National Championship."

Athletic Director Kevin Jones is excited about the addition of Golf and adding Rich Scott to the coaching staff. "We are excited to add golf to our athletics department and are looking forward to the recruitment of new student athletes.  Rich has a lot of ties to the local community and brings in a wealth of knowledge about the game of golf.  We are optimistic about the future of Golf at FM."
