The men's baseball team continues to roll as the close out their regular season. They completed a season sweep against Columbia-Greene on Wednesday and extended their winning streak to six games on Thursday when they defeated Mohawk Valley Community College.
On Thursday, the Raiders hosted the Hawks in a doubleheader at Shuttleworth park. FM got out to a 5-run lead in the fifth inning. MVCC scored three runs on a home run in the sixth inning, but the Raiders held on for the 5-3 victory.
Cai Cheng En earned the win on the hill. He surrendered four hits and three runs over seven innings and struck out eight. FM had 10 hits in the game, led by Yejune Lee and Tyler Safran with 2 RBIs each. Cheng En went 3-for-3 at the plate.
In game two, it was all Raiders as they defeated MVCC, 11-1 in five innings. The Raiders scored 11 runs in the third inning. Isamu Shikama and Safran led with two hits apiece. Yejune Lee led with 3 RBIs. Safran and Cheng En also tallied 2 RBIs.
Po Ting Lin got the win on the mound. He gave up four hits and no earned runs and struck out five over five innings of work.
The Raiders now improve to 14-16 overall. FM looks to keep their post-season hopes alive when they travel to Mohawk Valley Community College on Sunday in the regular season finale.
