The men's basketball team suffered a tough overtime loss to Mohawk Valley on Thursday night. FM had their chances down the stretch but fell short, 93-95.
FM led 46-38 at the half, but the Hawks came out of the locker room strong. The visiting team was able to take the lead 54-53 with 12 minutes remaining. Both teams traded baskets down the stretch and Chris Toussaint drilled a three with 45 seconds to go. Juwan Malone was able to make a runner in the lane to take the lead 79-77.
MV had the final possession of regulation and missed a three point attempt, but an offensive rebound put back sent the game to overtime.
In overtime, Mohawk Valley shot the ball well and the Raiders fell behind 87-92. Jahmr Jordan sank a three from the top of the key and Jaleel Jean Jacques made a foul shot to cut the deficit 93-95. After a timeout, the Raiders got a few open looks in the final seconds, but they wouldn't fall.
The Raiders will wrap up their regular season on Saturday when they host Columbia Greene at 3:00 p.m.
