The Fulton-Montgomery CC Men's Basketball team closed out their 2025–26 season Saturday afternoon on Sophomore Recognition Day. The Raiders fell to Herkimer 85–59, short of a postseason berth in the team's final game of the year.
Herkimer set the tone early, building a 41–21 halftime advantage after limiting the Raiders' offensive rhythm and converting consistent scoring opportunities in transition. FMCC showed improved energy in the second half, nearly matching the Generals with 38 points after the break, but the first-half deficit proved too large to overcome.
Despite the result, the Raiders were led by a strong offensive performance from Craig Guest Jr., who poured in a game-high 27 points while knocking down four three-pointers and attacking the rim to earn trips to the free-throw line.
Javon Smith and Andre Jackson each contributed nine points, with Smith adding five rebounds and Jackson providing all-around production with five boards and two assists. Jordon Knight chipped in seven points, while Matthew Carter added four points and three rebounds off the bench.
The game marked the final opportunity for the group to compete together this year, closing a season that featured hard-fought battles the entire season. The Raiders will now turn their focus to the offseason as the program looks ahead to regroup, develop, and prepare for next season.
