Men's Soccer secured a hard-fought 1-0 road victory over Genesee Community College on Sunday afternoon in their season opener. A first-half strike from Léo Vautrin and a solid defensive showing proved to be enough for the Raiders.
Vautrin put the visitors on the board midway through the opening half, off a Juri Barnstorf-Brandes assist. The goal proved to be the difference in a tightly contested match where scoring opportunities were limited on both sides.
Despite Genesee's push for an equalizer in the second half, Fulton-Montgomery held firm defensively, with a standout performance from Mathis Briffaud in goal and a disciplined back-line play preserving the clean sheet.
The win marks an important early season result for the Raiders as they continue building momentum. The Raiders will return to action at home on Wednesday, September 3rd. They will host North Country at 4:00 p.m.
