Marquis Edwards is a starting guard who has averaged nearly 12 points per game so far this season. The Raiders are a running team, and, regardless of the opponent, Edwards is always one of the most up-tempo and exciting players on the court.
Head Coach Ed Collar had this to say about the speedy sophomore: “He is an excellent outside shooter, as well as being one of the team's top defenders. The most important attribute that Marquis (or ‘Q’, as his teammates call him) brings to the team is his leadership. Marquis has taken charge of the team since the first day. He pushes teammates to work hard every day in practice, he holds them accountable for their effort and attitude, and he gets everyone to function as one unit. He is also sets a great example in the classroom and is an excellent student. The Raiders have achieved success thus far by playing as a team, and Marquis is the ‘glue’ that binds the team together.”
