Fulton-Montgomery Community College battled throughout four tight quarters but came up just short on Thursday evening, falling 70–62 to Monroe Community College in women's basketball action.
The opening quarter set the tone for a defensive struggle, with both teams knotted at 9–9 after ten minutes. Monroe found its rhythm in the second, outscoring the Raiders 24–22 to take a slim 33–31 advantage into halftime.
FMCC continued to trade baskets in the third, but Monroe used a 14–11 edge to extend its lead to five entering the final frame.
