The Lady Raiders grinded out a 62-57 road victory over Mohawk Valley Community College to improve to 8-0 in conference play. The win secured the best record in conference play and Mountain Valley Conference Champions.
The contest was tight from the opening tip. Both teams battled to a 12-12 tie after the first quarter before the Lady Raiders edged ahead 32-29 at halftime. FMCC created separation in the third quarter, holding Mohawk Valley to just seven points while building a nine-point advantage heading into the final period.
Mohawk Valley made a late push with 21 fourth-quarter points, but the Raiders' defensive pressure and timely baskets sealed the five-point victory.
Kieonna Christmas led the way offensively with 22 points on an efficient 9-of-14 shooting, including 4-of-5 from three-point range. Hailey Monroe stuffed the stat sheet with 15 points, eight assists, seven steals, and six rebounds, controlling the tempo on both ends of the floor.
Cloey Dopp added 13 points and five assists, while Shiasia Williams dominated the paint with 12 rebounds and seven blocks to go along with seven points.
The Lady Raiders will close out the regular season this week. They travel to Dutchess Community College on Tuesday and then host their final home game of the season on Saturday, February 21st against Herkimer.
